Pathway to paradise

Today was the day
when all was supposed
soon to be disposed,
worldly belongings
worries, longings,
deep slumber
is just so near,
eternal rest
with certain fears
of unknown,
insidious, grown,
scares, multilayers,
do not spare
raw nerves,
notice has been served
it is time,
sleep now
wake up to
reality new
after the end,
soul renews
seeing on the other end
long lost relations, friends,
smiling, waving,
reassuring
beautiful green,
doorway alluring,
pathway near,
cross without fear
spilling emotions,
unable to bear,
home forever,
uncontrollably cry
a beloved’s kiss,
wipes tears dryIMG_2218.JPG

  1. Oh yes, this is great AB. I especially liked the last four lines, “home forever, uncontrollably cry, a beloved’s kiss, wipes tears dry”
–It makes me think of the biblical verse in Revelation:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
You know, I was just considering death and the brevity of life these past few days. It made me feel sad. I really believe that it provokes such strong emotions because it was never meant to be. I just know that I want to live my life valuing that which is of true value. I don’t have a lot of money or things, but I have an amazing family, forgiveness of my sins and peace with God. I still fear the hour of death, or someone I love dying before me, but I have hope. And when hope is lost, then we have nothing.
    Really wonderful and poignant AB.

      1. Unable to comment as I go through a lot, I am very generous as I believe we all bloggers deserve praise for their efforts. I do comment on exceptional stuff, sometimes write long poems to respond as well 😀
