Life need not to be a prison,
a jail for the dear heart
Wake up, make up and take up
Moments which will be lost
Loving again is easy, forgiving is not
They live happily, why should you rot
Nothing deep, nothing profound
Just a simple, shallow
Thought

A very timely and … delightful piece of poetry, AB … Nice flower, too !

“Simple shallow thought”
–No way! As we say in Portuguese, “Que nada”. Nothing simple about that thought.

I enjoyed this inspiring poem with deep meaning hidden underneath its seemingly simple surface. To me freedom sometimes seems as fleeting as time and life itself. It is so easy to become imprisoned by our own negative thoughts or by other people’s negativity.
I was so happy to read this poem after I was almost finished dealing with this year’s income taxes. For the past few days, I have spent the night with tax forms and worksheets, and this time-consuming task has made me feel like I have been under house arrest for most of the week.

Good to hear from you Arlene, I hope tax return was not too much trouble and you are feeling way better since it is over. Thank you so much for enjoying my humble words again 🙂

It is good to hear from you too, AB. This year’s taxes for me and my dad were a little more complicated than usual, but we got through them. I think filling out the tax forms will be easier next year unless I do some freelance work and have net earnings of over US $400 (this has not happened to me yet). Then I get to experience the joy of making estimated tax payments, filling out tax schedules that allow me to deduct business expenses, and completing the self-employment tax form with the government-mandated formula for calculating self-employment tax. I would be happier that I am done with dealing with taxes if another annoying and somewhat time-consuming problem did not come up last week. I am trying to deal with it patiently, but it is delaying me from posting new work on my blog.
You know that I admire your poetry and photography very much. However, I am trying to keep the praise to a minimum so that I will not make you feel uncomfortable. 🙂 Take care. 🙂
