Night falls in desert
fire warms in cold
Gently oh so gently
Makes you sleep
Burying the dark
thoughts so deep
Whispers
and hugs
Kind words
and smiles
Ancestors in dreams
Make you weep
Thank you very very much for pretty much liking all I have to offer 🙂 you are an amazing poet yourself so really pleased that you enjoyed my humble words 🙂
Beautiful and I’d like to be in the desert with coffee just like this. Arabic coffee, just looking at this photo. I wonder if some other life I was there. I once knew the Arabic word for this coffee pot (I have a small one, in gold, given me by a student from Kuwait long ago) Duh-la? Is that the world. I can taste green
I love the depth in these words, AB. Contemplative and beautifully done! May we always remember where we came from and may we never forget what truly matters.
For some reason, the image reminds me of “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. The stunning photo and heartfelt emotions make this one of my favorite posts, AB. 😉
I love such settings night in a desert, evening in a national park with animals sounds all around, early morning at a beach listening to the waves, sitting on top of a ridge at dawn 😊 thank you Sonya
The final two lines are heart-wrenching. Sorry to read this part of your ancestry.

Many thanks for the read, the last two lines are about feeling emotional when I see my long gone granddad in my dream.

I love the photo – solitude in the dark hours of the night when everyone else has gone to bed post tea. This takes me home too.
