Memory

Suddenly a melodious tune I hear
Sound of heaven in my ears
Bringing back far away years
Childhood, grandfather, I
Listening to the radio,
Moments just fly,
Alghoza by Misri on air
Sky became clear
Birds would sing
Bells would ring
Joys it brings
Barns, golden lands
Wheat, working hands
More energy was found
All around, work quickens
Heart cleaned blood thickens
Suddenly the magic ceases
Record ends, pulse eases,
tears runs through my heart
Eyes long for one last look
If I can see all of it again
My hand holding his one finger
That memory lingers and lingers
His wisdom and fables
Our walk to stables
His talk and my babels
All gone, except that tune
Reminding me every moment
I spent, wisdom he lent,
Still carry me through this life
Thank you granddad,
I will see him in heaven
I just hope one exists
Because I miss him
Dearly…

Life’s battles

Concubines of war
slaves for eternity
is there any justice?
flesh sold to entertain
then enthral,
finally extinguish
burning blood
dried tears’ flood
thousand coffins’ wood
another battle is upon us

Salt

The beat restarts
Flicker on the screen
Hope of life rekindles
in darkness so deep
The person you see
That person doesn’t weep
After million cuts of sorrow
Injuries so steep
He has to hold his heart
Caress it to sleep
to hide unstoppable
salty water

In the tunnel again

After a long time
I entered that tunnel again
Memories are not very kind
Squishing you under their boots
Planted thousand trees without fruit
And my heart was the cheap loot
Was trampled on, crushed uncountable times
Till there was satisfaction, clock chimes
Thirteen and fifth quarter of the hour
Tears replaced water in the shower
Guards ready to fatally shoot from the tower
When I escape emotions prison
with million justifiable reasons
still considered life ending treason
I am forced to enter that tunnel again
And I cry uncontrollably on the first step
No one to console, just me and darkness
lack of colours, mind’s starkness
and ignoring, unobserving, faceless passerby
Unable to lie, to myself or any of you

River of warm tears

tears run for eons,
a river is born
immerse, go deep
find the dark end
where poor heart weeps
thousand piercing
knives’ sharp feel
a kind kiss would heal
kneel and kneel
in presence of Devine
beg for redemption
And let it define
your freedom
