Continuously cornered
with life’s angles
Love quarrels
emotion tangles
False promises
broken bangles
Pushing, shoving in
soul’s wrangles
survival is difficult
as a square peg

Metropolis
of diamonds, silver,
Sparkling gold
Shiny dwellings,
flashy carriages
Nothing old
Life, love, lust,
All on sale
All being sold
Lies are fashion
Truth was never
ever told
Hold and hold
breath
till you depart

Unfaithful

Reflections of a lantern
into glowing eyes
questioning origins
of known blatant lies
cause, necessity, a desire, a need
was it dark envy or truly blind greed
cave lit up, muted sounds rise
piercing long whispers, silence demise
logic was castigated, passion ran loose
soul was captured, hanging in a noose
power of persuasion, led to abuse
not long to refuse, final undisputed truth

pretentiousness, lies
deceit, commotion
looks, smiles,
fake emotions
blood boils

Flight

past, as a crow, flies
in front my eyes
memories,
few were true
many were lies
to accommodate
sleep at night
smiles in days bright
live a simple life
no conscience fight
to admire present
ignore future fright
