Mind gremlins

Love those feeble creatures
having it all, real features
elating , distracting, focus
occurrence real or hocus-pocus
airborne to one locus
making life worthwhile
on a journey erstwhile
Words for miles and miles

Concrete oasis burning

Humans worse than
animals at the gates
murdering anyone who
they see against their fates
hands are blackened
by the blood they spill
eyes red, heavens
nightmares their heads fill
without looking at faces
who they kill, they kill
innocent screams in fear,
ignored by savages with no ears

This was written after a terrorist attack in Karachi in June 2014, a city I am fond of and have amazing memories. The photos are from Jinnah international airport which was targeted and many innocent people were killed, all terrorists are dead as well.

Looking through

Nothing on the other side
All we seek is inside
Within us, stop searching thus
Soul, heart will show the way
Every night, each day,
Just listen, let them have their say
In this, perhaps only here, you may
find redemption

Absent

lost in thoughts
of future and past
wasting precious present
ready to resent
as present will not last

Emotional cushions

Strict curfew is imposed
on my unstable emotions
All memories, all worries
friendships end in hurry,
affections we bury
having a bad day
a pillow to sleep away

Read red writing on the wall

Blood red greens
Anger seething roots dark
Passion feeding vegetation spark
your needs, we sacrifice ourselves to feed
to save our brethren on greens, trees in teens
being killed for paper planes, prints insane
millions die for unwanted trash, toilet paper or cash
our vapour boils to extreme, no herbs it seems
will cure your disease, unmeasurable greed
having more, from one to the next shore

Closure

million gates, doors,
windows, passages
streets, roads,
emerging pathways,
short cuts, alleyways
bridges, valley ways,
shut, closed, out of bounds
you and your destiny,
left with hounds
don’t give up, don’t lose faith
a new dimension, not to mention
unsung friends, impossible trends
will come to the rescue, eagles will come
fly you away, to the path of the sun
patience will shine, darkness disappear
despair will die, a new you will appear

all numbers are known
all words have been spoken
a prodigy arrives, paradigm shifts
veil from new secrets, suddenly lifts
left to right, universe changes course
reality blurs, storms hurricane force
nothing looks the same, logic appears lame,
all has been burnt, in mighty creative flame
