Rest without peace

Deserts, dunes,
oases opportune
dawn bearable,
too hot at noon
walk run, walk run,
repeat and repeat
keep dodging death,
every hidden defeat
boundaries pushed far,
endurance to extreme
walking on the water,
nothing is what it seems
rest is no option,
sleep standing a while
too far still to go,
body and mind’s toil
destination is known,
let courage keep calm
soul will find peace in
redemption sand storm

Forgotten souls

On a journey to somewhere known
Close to the heart, where happiness was born
On the winding way, long road beyond reality
thousand places pass, never to be visited
their stories never narrated, through dry blunt lips
when running towards, the joy of being
such tiny, minuscule details are lost,
although, almost, always at a cost
which is repaid, by the kiss of beloved
forgotten pages of moments passed
when seen from a prism of harsh perception
colours of traits separated, deception
envy, lust, cruelty, hate, indifference
nothing good seems to refract out
good and evil in a vicious bout
evil it seems, always wins
suggesting redemption in a sin
losing perspective of the journey, its end
stay the course, traveller, avoid the bend
where the life carriage will be broken
help will come, heaven send
from the same forgotten, hidden, unmentioned
people of the middle, who would lend
a soul in hand, to push you across prairie

Few trinkets for the long road

Last journey commenced
pocket shows few silver coins,
pendant with a letter etched
heart is crushed, brutally wretched

tears incessant, blood dripping
walk on that memory lane
those moments, hours,
days, years, eons insane

all was left unsaid, just
glitter and jingling wood
should have saved soul
losing that would, could

Hindsight, a worthy adversary
knives heart from the front
before finding redemption
thousand demons to confront

In plain sight

Fly afar in deep blue sky
longer lasting moments of joy
coming ashore one by one
Ticks and tocks dipped in fun
fabric of time extends, bends
memories remain until the end

Travel is hard
Road uneven
your carriage
is old, rusty
Road is dusty
You carry on
nevertheless
A thought carries you
Impending embrace
ferries you
Waiting at the end
a loved one
Makes the journey
smooth sailing
Ignoring ailing
creaking ship
toils will be
soon forgotten

1. Silly one first
Train train go away
Come again another day
Heart just wants to stay
No hard toil, just pure play

2. Slightly pensive one –
When the journey commences
we look behind
find nothing but
dust of our thoughts
hardship we brought
by thinking too much
not acting enough
before the moment has passed

Unending journey

deep eyed traveller
your journey has ended
why is it so,
I still feel stranded
thrown up to blue
miles airborne,
or deep within ocean
castaway alone,
days passed in daze,
being left to rot,
no one searching,
not being sought
earth’s forgotten
part of billion souls
unable to participate
has no role
suggestions welcome
death could be one
castigation another
easily done
purpose and such
lost when lost
journey so dark
at soul’s cost
searching redemption
in universe’s hum
a new destination
here I come
