Unfaithful

Reflections of a lantern
into glowing eyes
questioning origins
of known blatant lies
cause, necessity, a desire, a need
was it dark envy or truly blind greed
cave lit up, muted sounds rise
piercing long whispers, silence demise
logic was castigated, passion ran loose
soul was captured, hanging in a noose
power of persuasion, led to abuse
not long to refuse, final undisputed truth

Intricate relics
Pre historic stubs
Paintings, statues
Ancient rumps
Self serving importance
Sapient impotence
Wealth mirage
Painted visage
And us

Unfit to live

Squares and circles
lines, triangles
Continuously cornered
with life’s angles
Love quarrels
emotion tangles
False promises
broken bangles
Pushing, shoving in
soul’s wrangles
survival is difficult
as a square peg

Forbidden fruit

Why can’t I touch you
feel, peel or steal you
Ingrained in universe
my short last verse
Searching longing
your company
Heart and soul
will accompany
to the doors of heaven
There I will be denied
for sins all but seven
for dearest affection
praising with my heart,
more than dear lord
casting me a pariah
good deeds erased
in the fields demons grazed
each drop of guilty blood
Noah waited for his flood
I keep slipping to the dark
all in deep red, back hark
past is so painful
forbidden fruit so disdainful
proud of its fruitless deed
innocence castigated, never freed
let’s see where this all leads

revolting, lava laden hell
