Prayer of a young soul

Money grows on trees
No one sleeps on streets
Rich redistributes
Helping communities

Consciences are clear
Sapiens have a say
Government hears

No obscene wages
Humans have dignity
No fight in cages

Hard work is paid
Life is fair
Hope lives in masses
No despair

When nature strikes hard
Lives are lost
Humanity responds
Thick and fast

Armies disbanded
Wars not around
Nature cured
Food abound

Can we live
Without screams
of poor’s pains
I pray, I dream

True colours

Green leaves, creamy flowers
showing their perfect petals
Plucked before innocence
Denoting true wholesome love
humanity served, well deserved?
such sacrifice, tear showers

Dark awakening

I woke up after thousand tales
Seeing the earth frail and fail
What have you done to it
What have you done
for your fiendish churlish fun
a million years were wasted
when fossil fuels were tasted
by vampire of human greed
Evolution or annihilation,
only history will judge
two hundreds years carbon smudge
Holding a grudge, against your own
created from the green watery womb
now roaming uptight, arrogance aplomb
forgetting not so distant past
sapiens imagining this will last
forever. And forever more
weakened limbs are sore
and may give up trying to
defend indefensible, reprehensible
act of a kind, only humankind
are able to unleash on its mother

Dreams

Eyes gleaming
With dreams of tomorrow
a brighter future
a fulfilling life
Childhood
so naive so innocent
I wish them well
If only I can tell
Humanity’s affair
With utter despair
Bigotry and hate
Pre determined fate
of silver-spoon ones
while the rest run and run
to make ends meet
to clean the streets
to wash humanity’s skirt
from filth and dirt!

Without hope

Can we cope,
humanity’s panacea,
Soul’s pride,
heart’s ride,
Without, sweet Hope
Darkness will fall
Humanity won’t last
No one will know
how to end or to start,
Days will be long
Misery prolongs
Noons with no light
No end in sight
Falling down, no rope
Can we survive,
without hope
Depression abundantly kills
Sadness grills and grills
Sorrow refuses to leave
No faith, no believe,
Downhill life,
slippery slope
Will we ever arrive,
without hope
No furtherance in science
No trust, no reliance
Humanity without smiles
Just cries and riles
Anguish steadfastly gropes
happiness elopes,
without hope,
There is no hope

Pensive

Is life hard
Or we make it so
Trying to comprehend
a meaning, when there is none
Would be it easier if thoughts went away
replaced with merriment, joy and sun
Would we feel any worse than today
If breathing was the goal
Search is over, no one is pondering
definitions required for our role
Happenings, emotions, truths and lies
Take them what they are
Apologies, felicitations not required
Relations none, near or far
Fulfilment attained with no complications
by walking on the beach or recreation
Would it be life or just existence sole
Does it make any difference,
if humanity had no soul?

Then there was light!

Darkness all around
Devils are abound
Soul searching for redemption
All lost, nothing was found
First word was written
Evils deeply smitten
Human gave them fright
And there was light!
In heavens, on earth
ending good deeds dearth
Showing humanity’s best
Putting faiths to test
Reaching beyond colour creed
billion mouths to feed
the Moment has arrived,
Let cruelty bleed,
Sow kindness seed,
This is where you lead!

Humanity – the book

The current civilisation of Human species has come a long way in the last five thousand years. The technology is mesmerising, architecture astounding and knowledge is touching nebulae and far flung galaxies. Our values however are perhaps not showing same level of progress. There is continuous war and hunger. Inequality is increasing every moment, pursuit of wealth has made most of us blind from the misery of our brethren living just few moments away from us. Environment is a concern for the tree hugging minority only. Destruction of forests, extinctions of wildlife species and increasing temperatures globally is a commonality not even worthy of daily news anymore. This age of individuality and trying to live life through social media has made our planet more ignorant, less tolerant and a troll infested realm. I hope, wish and pray that some of these terrible trends will reverse in the not so distant future and humanity snaps out of this current craze of abominable behaviour. This short book of poems and images try to highlight my humble observations in an abstract setting.

I will try to spread this message of compassion and equality until the time is upon me. Here is the latest instalment in the form of a book at IBOOks store (free)

Humanity

Where are your gods now (a tale)

An evil emperor of foreign lands
one day docked on calmer waters
Scorched the earth destroyed greens
Butchered animals, enslaved people

Then put them under his boots and screamed
Tell me where are your gods now
One child had the courage
No fear in those deep black eyes

Looked at him and simply said
If you keep doing this, you will be dead
Emperor got angry took boy to task
Got his sword and tell him to ask

For forgiveness to his mighty sin
Child was fearless, replied with a grin
If you can’t make me do what I am told
Think how much power you really hold

Humanity is not here because gods made it so
Fortitude, courage, desire to grow
These same people, you pillage and ruin
If had a good heart their souls you can win

Power you crave is nothing more than a dream
The day you are weak, you will die in screams
Adopt humanity and live amongst us
You will be remembered, immortality thus

Quite unbelievable, emperor took his advice
Released all people, gave them back their lands
Begged forgiveness, for his torture and his vice

If a child’s fortitude, can get a nation through
What are you waiting for,
Go for your dream, make it true!

Bleeding red day

what should we box
wasted sweets in giant socks
uncountable gold, silver coins
shiny colourless rocks

billions saved from wasting lights
pieces of junk causing unthinkable fights
money spared of expensive hangings
unwanted gifts, lingerie, leggings

turkeys, sprouts all food wasted,
wine, liqueur, those drinks never tasted
having more and more, cleaning entire stores
of those things we’ve bought, unwittingly sought

a day of reckoning what could have been
a generous giving yesterday should have been
humanity matters possessions certainly not
what a wonderful bleary weak afterthought!

Universally applicable to second days of Eid, Diwali, Christmas and all other global retail festivals, so no discrimination in collective criticism…I wish I could act on this thought but I don’t so certainly don’t practice what I preach…
