Prisoner of cupola

A beautiful dame of uncertain fame
been captured, gold-cuffed in a solitary loft
Each day she cries, asks Almighty why
is the fate of late has venom and hate
a family of meagre means, happily ate beans
content in that simple existence, mutual assistance
forgotten denizen of a small town,
plain cloth worn without any frowns,
what have I done, what could be done
to remove the curse, bring life back in verse
bad omens reverse, an ordinary universe
Answer to that is No, when rich and powerful
set eyes on beautiful, lilies in a dirty pond,
who won’t abscond, will not bond,
to dirty money, shores darkly sunny,
refuse to become their beautiful bunny,
they are captured and killed, or willed
as such, thrown money and much
to lure in a lie, deceit and wry
smirks, bodies bought, souls, thoughts,
left behind in simple family homes,
and most beautiful, innocent
girls left crying in grand domes
their destiny is all but sealed, truth revealed
there is no God for the poor, no justice for the weak
world full of death of dreams, screams, crushed squeak
of gold adorned, silk worn, gorgeous dames
locked in a cupola to match their fate and fame
all days still glitter but all are the same
until that moment, a smile returned and death came

Eternal town

The view is majestic,
Blue skies, spring day
city is singing that infectious tune
of love and longing
trust and belonging
Fly and be at the Vatican door
wave goodbye to Amore
saying you will be in touch
and this gorgeous, most beautiful city
loves you too much
