Zero to infinity

First experiment in publication…please take a look at ‘Zero to Infinity’ a short book with ten poems at iBooks store…since love, devotion and thoughts are priceless, this book is free. I have created it over one of the weekends so apologies in advance for any typos and navigation issues that you may experience. If you like it then please spread the word. Shame

(In the context of Catholic Church scandals from the near past, this is not supposed to disrespect the religion but the clergy who runs it and some unnatural rules creating immense psychological issues)

People on earth, look at me
Cross in my hand, authority
Words I speak, are words of God
Ignore your instincts, obey thee
Colour in my eyes, may be lecherous
Your time in church, will be treacherous
Pain you suffer, humiliation you incur
In the name of the Lord, we hit you hard
Altar boys, kneel before me
ignore my insanity, vanity, profanity
Nightmares you have, suicide you crave
I thought you understood
It for your own good,
Our desires need to be fulfilled
You were available,
So you were grilled
Don’t speak up, consequences dire
I will go higher, cardinal aspire
You move along too,
Try to live the life you want to
Throw your empty soul in the bin
I will beg forgiveness for my sins

Danube

Oh mighty Danube speak to me
Tell me whereabouts of dear Count
Do you see him, is he still around?
I have been everywhere
in search for his sight
No single trace of him, nor his might
Dark marks on soft skins
of pure beauties and dames
If you see him
Give him my name
Desperately in need
That’s why I came
Too much suffering
my heart has a hole
Can he please bite me
and remove my soul

Humanity – the book

The current civilisation of Human species has come a long way in the last five thousand years. The technology is mesmerising, architecture astounding and knowledge is touching nebulae and far flung galaxies. Our values however are perhaps not showing same level of progress. There is continuous war and hunger. Inequality is increasing every moment, pursuit of wealth has made most of us blind from the misery of our brethren living just few moments away from us. Environment is a concern for the tree hugging minority only. Destruction of forests, extinctions of wildlife species and increasing temperatures globally is a commonality not even worthy of daily news anymore. This age of individuality and trying to live life through social media has made our planet more ignorant, less tolerant and a troll infested realm. I hope, wish and pray that some of these terrible trends will reverse in the not so distant future and humanity snaps out of this current craze of abominable behaviour. This short book of poems and images try to highlight my humble observations in an abstract setting.
