If not here
where exactly
Reality of life
is ready to hit
the true misfit
perhaps for one
last time
ready to quit
no black suits
no lamp lit
just solitary coffin
that is it
I felt terrible liking this. Not that it isn’t an excellent poem but it could almost be taken as a prediction, a goodbye which I wouldn’t want this to be.I’d be most happy to be told I’m wrong and it’s just a fatalistic outlook.
David, thank you so much for such wonderful show of caring, really grateful. Just a thought I shared while sitting on the 63rd floor of a glitzy building and looking at the colours of the night and what world has to offer and whether I am interested in those enticements 😊
And here I thought I was the only ‘square’ peg in the crowd. I sometimes wonder if any of us ‘fit’ in our topsy-turvy world. The nice thing about getting older is that you learn to roll with life and take it as it comes. That lonely coffin will come soon enough.
Amazing photo – and lovely writing!💜

We all have some squareness to us, some are better at hiding it, others don’t care, fitting in was never my thing 😊

I know what you mean. 🙂 I guess that is the beauty of being an ‘individual’. 🙂
