On a rainy drench day
I thought of lost time
When language was proper
Abuse worst crime
Money was secondary
Ethics were Prime

Rebels were martyrs
Thoughts had a home
Divine cried over a
lost genius’ tome

Verses were heard
Words carried weight
Philosophical pondering
and humanity’s fate

Music grand masters
Songs sung in soul
Days, many hours
Nirvana achievable goal

Was this all real
or mirage, imagination
Life was much simpler?
mind’s insinuation

Return to the mundane
daily death routine
Passing through passages
Million times seen

    1. You are most welcome, I think technology can be a convenience if once in a while there is a way to turn it off and have your day, I do this somedays, turn it off and have a day reading a book, talking to people around me. Used to be much easier nowadays it feels strange when you notice everyone else is reaching for their phone or iPad or computer every few seconds.

    1. I agree that there are postives and negatives present and past. I also think we, humans, are very fickle, sometimes we look back and admire what we thought we had and loathe our current state of affairs, on other more postive sunny days we think completely the opposite 😊

  1. As I was reading your poem it reminded me of a poem named “Leisure”. by William Henry Davis. Especially the line, “….we have no time to stand and stare”. Though we have other advantages but life has become hectic and stressful.
