Alone in the moor
looking to end a life
circle gets completed
he contemplates

From a distance
he appears a savage
Inside he is crying
Listening to the prey
Wishing it well
deed must be done
Before the night fell

  1. I think you are a true professional on combining pictures and lyrics. It always get Such a stunning, yet realistic atmosphere! I’m so glad that I started following you πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you for liking β€œMy Mother’s Photography” and β€œJaquet-Droz Automata.” I would probably be thinking the same thoughts as the hunter in your poem if I ever tried to go hunting, which I do not think I will ever do. I understand that some people have to hunt out of necessity, but I cannot relate to people who hunt for sport and then display preserved animal heads as trophies of their hunting adventures. Their attitude toward hunting is the opposite of the attitude held by the Native American people in the southeastern United States. For them, hunting was a sacred act that had to be done properly or else dire consequences would result. The souls of slain animals had to be appeased through ritual and sacrifice, or the slain animals would seek revenge by bringing disease upon the people.

    1. Thank you so much, visiting your blog is always a pleasure. I am from a hunting family and photos you see is a hunt I participated in, however we only hunt what we eat and don’t to it for sports (trophy hunting). Hence I agree with your comments entirely!

    1. Eric, thank you for reading this, my concept is around hunting for sustenance, no optionality, circle of life, Cheetah has go after gazelle, big fish after small fish, hence ‘Must’!
