She was everything
The most beautiful creation
nature bestowed to earth
deeply madly in love
Alas, my destiny would not have it
I was, I am, cursed by birth
Thanks SB for your thought…In most cases it is true (definitely in ours)..however there are those few who are born in abject poverty, in a famine hit or war zones; unfortunately life for them is already being decided by others before they have a say.
Your blog, your photography, your poetry are superlative. Thanks for following me so that I found the remarkable things you are sharing with the rest of the world.
I run a small writing prompt program in which I use snippets from other writers, obtain their permission, link to their story and use the line as the weekly prompt. May I use this line? If you’re interested, I’ll send you the link to find out more about it, it’s a wonderful community, one which I think you would love!
OK. The other day I read one of your poems and the photo had a big rock looking thing in it. I’ll see if I can find it. I think I saw it on the Reader.
You know, AB, I’ve just decided that my problem with it is that it seems more … aimed ? directed ? … less OVER-ALL than usually. I think I’m touched far more deeply by your work that isn’t about a ‘particular person’ (regardless of its being merely a … ummm … personification from your thinking). Shut up, M.R.! – you’re rambling !
And I’ve probably liked other work that’s equally ‘personal’. I shall now go back to the weighty matter of completely re-doing my blog in terms of my book – which has got somewhat lost without all those bloody widgets. Sighh … What time is it with you?
Perhaps Im as shallow as my pastel little blog, but cute shoes she is wearing ^_^ the shoes made me read and the poem moved me a little bit. You are such a treat to follow.
It is ok to be who you are, nothing is shallow or deep, just our perception and sense of relative depth – we are all deeply shallow to the almighty 🙂 thank you so much for the comment, I am glad that shoes were the cause 🙂
The cursing by birth still hasn’t gone away. Racism, inferior education, caste systems or class systems, religious intolerance – all these things still place people on the other side of a barrier.
no one is cursed by birth! it is a curse we human beings bring upon others or ourselves.

I was wondering where that was taken. The one with the big rock looking thing. Sorry, I don’t know what that is.

OK. However, is that part of the mountain?

You mean the cable car 🙂

No, on the top and to the left in the photo. Is it just a pile of dirt? Or perhaps part of the mountain, why it’s called Sugar Loaf Mountain?
