History

Bulldozers
come in
making way for
new construction
Restrictions
are in place
to move around
the space
Instructions
they leave
for residents
new denizens
to keep
Destruction
will be after
few years of
construction
Construction
Restrictions
Instructions
Destruction
Repeat and
repeat
Humankind
Play games
Until the day of
Resurrection

  1. That’s great AB. It’s like ‘there’s nothing new under the sun’. What has been done will be done again. Also makes me think of how we become so discontent so quickly. Could be why consumerism is such a huge issue. Never content. Always wanting something new to fill the void.

    1. Thank you for your wonderful thought, consumerism and keep repeating the cycle πŸ™‚ it is quite strange that some old building have survived few hundred years while the new constructed ones need to be destroyed every 50/60 years or so πŸ™‚

      1. Tell me about it. Even worse in Brazil with furniture. In the ‘olden days’ everything was made out of strong, durable wood. And well made at that. Nowadays, you buy something and the quality is horrendous, not to mention that it falls apart and gets really ugly even within the first year of having it. It’s even worse with small kids. hmmmmmm…

  2. That was a cool photo, but then you read the poem and you think “man, those people ….” Loved the rhythm.

Quite something that you hang up a beautiful photo and then tell us about human suffering. In a beautiful way that is, quite a contradiction. Nice.
