Canvas and frame

scorching heat
head to toe sweat
hands getting tired
nails are wet
Hard work,
heart’s work
Created art work
priceless,
sold for pennies
true artists few
fakes so many

      1. I am sorry but I don’t do reblogs…best of luck in your endeavours, my suggestion would be to move site elsewhere if you are not happy! I am sure there are alternatives available.

  2. Just love the slimness of this poem – it sort of sliced into the heart of an artist. Well, this artist at least πŸ™‚ Thank you for this!

    Hope you are well πŸ™‚

    1. Allison, Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, it is an absolute unjust system where ultimately middle men and art financiers are made rich and 99 percent artists live life of making end meets and poverty. There is lucky less than one percent who get famous in their life time and are able to see fruit of their labour and able to share glory of their master pieces.
I am very well, many thanksπŸ˜€

      1. It really is unjust, the system. I am grateful to know your work, it has brought me much joy. πŸ™‚

We artists are all activists, I like to say, in a world starved for originality and authenticity. To create something genuine seems a dare!

        Blessings and light, always,

        Allison

      2. I don’t consider myself a true artist, just a humble person who would like to raise issues and show such inequality and injustice. To me true artists who also rely on royalties and artwork sale are short changed by the current system. I hope that Internet will break that barrier one day soon.

        Kindest regards
        AB

    1. Many thanks Brenda, I hope we could have a better system of reward to actual artists one day rather than most of the fruits of their labour going to middle men and art financiers.

      1. Business men just continue to squeeze out all the juice from the fruit. I wish for more equity among artists, too — more artists being embraced rather than an atmosphere of superiority by dealers that the only great art is old art by dead artists. Publishers would rather republish old classics that are out of copyright than look for new authors with whom they would share the profit.

      2. I wholeheartedly agree, I have heard comments for some great living artists that people are waiting for them to die as it will enhance value of their work…On publishing side I hope Internet will take the sting out of great writers royalty free work as most is available online for free.

  4. Great post an written piece of work! True artist is seems as i have not really called myself an artist, however not would be a different story…

As i ponder the past it seem that artist only make money after they are dead and long gone.

  5. Sometimes, I to feel that certain Art Pieces made from that Artist’s Sweat and Heart, is sold eventually for a new pennies. Yet some rubbish splash of colors on a canvas is sold for a million dollars !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
