Depth

Deep, shallow,
who is to decide
is poetry deep
just ostentatious
mind peeps
showing off ability
to word juggle
when others struggle
Idle walk
people talk
assumed shallow
totally hollow
what if it is about wellbeing
of a loved one
finding solutions
someone’s pains
Life’s stains
crave for some
one or thing
Infatuation real shallow
Love oh so deep
Pure hunger, banal
connoisseur taste, steep
Inconsistency, hypocrisy
That is all to keep
Rest is just shallow
Sure

    1. Thank you so much, for a moment I thought you are suggesting perhaps my thought was also quite useless šŸ™‚ which is also a fair point on most occasions šŸ™‚

  1. I have learned that people’s interpretation of our words, and/or other communications by us, tells us more about “them” because they only have their own history, or bias with which to judge… so, though painful at times to hear hurtful (mis)interpretations of us… we cannot change another’s perspective… we can only go on living our lives to the best of our ability.

  2. A wonderful poem that shows concern for the weight of thoughts. Very enjoyable, and it’s something I’ve thought myself. I’ve just started writing poetry, and it seems much more honest than just telling a story straightforward, because it gives such emotion. Every single word matters, and I love that you chose to write those words down for us all to see. Well done.
